Belief, disbelief, and nonbelief

In this video, I answer subscriber questions about belief. I distinguish between believing a claim, disbelieving it, and nonbelieving it. To nonbelieve a claim is to neither believe that it is true nor to believe that it is false (in other words, disbelieve it) but to have no beliefs regarding it.

Having introduced the notion of nonbelief, I distinguish between naive nonbelief, in which you nonbelieve a claim because you know nothing about the subject in question, and deliberate nonbelief, in which you are aware of a subject but have not yet made up your mind about it.

I end by turning my attention to religion and discussing the difference between theists, atheists, and agnostics.
